First, the hotel's location could not be better for sightseeing in Lisbon. The Restauradores metro stop is right outside the hotel. Across the street is the train station allowing you to venture further outside the city. Up the street from the hotel is world-class shopping with high-end shops like Gucci. There is also a plethora of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The area around the hotel was very safe, as is much of Lisbon. That said, the location could not be beat. Second, the hotel staff were absolutely amazing. Everyone we encountered in the hotel made us feel welcome and always made themselves available to answer any questions. The room was very spacious for European standards. It had a double bed, which was two twin beds side-by-side. Each bed had sheets, making it perfect for traveling with family or friends. The bathroom was also adequately sized for a large shower and single vanity. The amenities and finishings were simple yet modern. There was plenty of space for luggage and the room also had a small sofa. Third, one of the most popular seafood restaurants in the city is attached to the hotel. There was a line daily for lunch and dinner, but the hotel has a special relationship with the restaurant and can always secure dinner reservations at 7:00 or 7:30 for hotel guests. I understand why the hotel may be rated 3-stars. It is smaller and does not offer the same level of luxury and extra services as a 5-star hotel should. However, do not let that deter you from staying here. This is the best 3-star hotel I've ever stayed in and I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone I know traveling to Lisbon!!

Blue Liberdade gave us everything we needed (and more) for our Lisbon trip. It was an incredibly clean room (we are both neat freaks so you can take our word for it) and the room service ensured the cleanliness and comfort continued throughout our trip. Our main worry with Lisbon accommodation was potential noise pollution within our room. However our room was very silent and comfortable to sleep in, despite facing a busy city view. But what really shines for Blue Liberdade is an amazing staff and location. The location is at the center of everything you want to see in Lisbon. For the attractions that are not walkable you have the public transport (metro, tram, bus) very close by and the transport tickets are conveniently sold at the reception desk. We cannot begin to describe how helpful staff is at Blue Liberdade. Not only they upgraded our room when we got there for NO COST at all. But they helped us through all our questions, tried to find best solutions for our problems and even helped us purchase our train tickets to Porto. Mind you, due to some problems the train tickets took almost half an hour to be purchased and during the time a lovely staff just sat through with us and helped in every step. There is complementary pateis de nata and good coffee at the reception (a savior when you don’t have time for breakfast) and some drinks at the minibar which are free as well. We even got a mini Portuguese wine! What’s more to ask?

The location of the hotel with respect to the city centre, metro station, taxi rank, local facilities etc was superb. Despite the hotel being on a relative major road (but well set back from it) and with the room being at the front and with a restaurant 2 floors below, we were pleasantly surprised that there was no disturbance from traffic or people. The room was lovely with quite a large bathroom with a great shower and its own french windows out to the front, The bed was super comfy, great pillows, good lighting options and the complimentary water and free soft drinks minibar is a nice touch. Everything seems very new and was spotlessly clean. Reception staff were super friendly and helpful and the free fizz, juices, coffee and Pastel de Natas were much appreciated! We chose not to take the breakfast option at the hotel but only because we prefer to have brunch/lunch. By the way, the restaurant outside (a separate business) seems really popular and food looked amazing - one of only a few places where locals queue to get a table.

I am so glad we booked this hotel! Blue Liberdade is a lovely hotel right off one of the popular squares in the city, yet it felt intimate and quiet. The hotel staff were attentive and friendly, and they had our room ready for an early check-in. Our room was clean and comfortable with amazing views of the square. The hotel offers an outstanding full breakfast and there is also complimentary espresso, water, wine, and pastry in the lobby for guests 24/7. We even received a small bottle of port wine the evening of our arrival - which was a very nice touch! I felt like every staff member went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when in Lisbon!

I couldn’t speak higher of the staff, which made us feel incredibly welcome and looked out for us the entire time. The location is perfect if you want to see the best of Lisbon. Our room was just the right size for us while we stayed for 3 days. The shower was amazing. The bed was very comfortable and we had a nice window overlooking the square. Big bonus for sound proof windows. In the bathroom, they have a full size blow dryer and a hair straightener. There’s also a restaurant downstairs, Pinoquio, which has a line starting around 6 PM so definitely plan to have a reservation if you want to go.
